Carrie Fisher's Death
2016 was considered by many the worst year of their lives. Many bad decisions and crazy radicalities were commuted during this year, including the deaths of some very beloved legends. Just as the glimmer of hope had shone through as the ability to have faith in the new year of 2017. On December 21st, the actress known as Carrie Fisher died. She was a great role model to many, having grown up in an alcoholic household, yet still pushing through to good. To many, she was known as the beloved Princess Leia from the Star Wars series. It is still not exactly known what the cause of death was. It's being debated wether it was a Heart Attack, Cardiac Arrest, or her past drug abuse when she was slightly younger. To make the matter even heavier, her mother was seriously grieving her daughter, when she passed away the next day. The world is grieving their deaths, as millions tell the late Carrie, "May the force be with you."

Azaria will face up to 20 years in prison for shooting a Palestinian stabbing suspect. Azaria denies these charges, but Israel's military chief of staff said that Azaria had violated the military's code of conduct. Pistol-Wielding Texas Grandma Runs Off Armed Intruder
Pistol-Wielding Texas Grandma Runs Off Armed Intruder.
A 74-year-old Texas grandmother confronted an armed intruder with the help of her .38-caliber pistol, ABC affiliate KTRK reports.
Rebbie Roberson, 74, of Bowie County was seated in her recliner getting ready to watch the evening news when she saw a man wearing a mask and gloves break into her home.
"And when I started to get up, he was in here on me with a gun facing me right to my face," Roberson said.
To the intruder's shock, Roberson calmly walked over to a table and picked up her gun.
"So I had to walk right out in front of him," Roberson said. "I didn't know if he was going to kill me or what. I reached over there and grabbed this gun. And when I swerved around, I pointed it at him, and he ran."
With pistol in hand, she said, she pursued the suspect, firing several shots, which left holes in the walls of her home.
"I'm not sure I didn't hit him. I don't know yet. I sure tried. I sure was hoping," Roberson said.
She said the incident was the first and, hopefully, the last time she had to use her gun.
"That was the scare of my life," Roberson said.
Police say they are looking for a suspect in the incident, which didn't appear to result in any bloodshed.
"It could have been worse for both individuals, both the victim and the suspect," Bowie County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jeff Neal said.

Congressman's son dabs during official swearing-in photo
After the House Speaker Paul Ryan officially swore in the 115th Congress Tuesday, he began an hours-long photo op with members and their families.
Newly-minted Rep. Roger Marshall, a Kansas Republican, got more than he bargained for in his photo. Despite being a father of four with what is likely a finely-tuned nonsense radar, one of the younger Marshalls decided to take full advantage of his front and center position ... by dabbing.
Dabbing is an upper body movement -- made popular by Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, and made embarrassing by former Rep. Loretta Sanchez during a political debate. Young Mr. Marshall did a textbook dab in the hallowed halls of Congress
The unit will be activated in the "event of war," the official said. Technically, South Korea and North Korea are still at war; they signed an armistice in 1953 but not a treaty.
The brigade was initially supposed to be ready in 2019, but the Defense Ministry now says it'll be established "by this year."

Indiana agrees $7 million tax break to keep Carrier jobs in state: company.
Recently, President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence have received praise for convincing Carrier to keep 1000 factory jobs in the US, and it has been reported that Carrier will get $7 million in tax breaks in return. While this gesture is a step in the right direction with regards to saving the middle-class job market, offering tax breaks as an incentive to keeping jobs in the US is not a solid solution to the decline of middle-class jobs. I can see how it this act might demonstrate to what lengths Trump is willing to go to preserve US jobs, but it just isn’t enough for a lasting impact. This somewhat reminds me of the rampant corruption in the cities during the Gilded Age. In this case, the corporation is bolstering support for Trump with this act and receiving money in exchange. Likewise, in the Gilded Age, political machines were known for employing urban bosses to pay off city residents to receive their votes and gain influence in government. What are your thoughts on Trump’s exchange with Carrier? Do you think financial incentive would help in the cause of saving US jobs? Why or why not?
